AN UNUSUAL ANTIQUE ENGLISH GEORGE III PERIOD STOOL
circa 1775
An English George III period stool of unusual design, being executed in selected, figured and faded mahogany, the ‘saddle-shaped’ seat surmounting a cupboard enclosed by a tambour door, the back of the cupboard being a simulated tambour door, the stool supported upon a shaped apron with dwarf cabriole legs, the bombé sides still retaining the original brass carrying handles.
Maximum height 21 1/4in (54cm). Width 22 3/4in (58cm). Depth 16in (41cms).
