A PAIR OF ANTIQUE EARLY REGENCY PERIOD OCCASIONAL TABLES IN THE MANNER OF WILLIAM TROTTER
circa 1815

A very fine quality PAIR of early Regency period occasional tables in the Grecian taste, the design in the manner of WILLIAM TROTTER OF EDINBURGH, the tables being executed in superbly figured and faded mahogany, the rounded rectangular tops having cross-cut veneered friezes with 'knulled' mouldings, the tops supported on lyre shaped end-standards with carved acanthus leaf decoration, the lyres having a turned, moulded central spindle, and being joined by turned and moulded cross-stretchers supporting a rectangular mahogany platform, the lyres supported on shaped rectangular 'knulled' platform bases, the bases still retaining the original carved, 'knulled' bun feet.
