AN ANTIQUE ENGLISH REGENCY PERIOD KIDNEY-SHAPED WRITING TABLE
circa 1815

A very fine quality and unusually large English Regency period writing table in the classical taste, the kidney-shaped top being executed in first quality mahogany of excellent faded colour and original patina, the edge being moulded, the top supported on elegant shaped end-standard supports, the supports being carved on both sides with rose and water-leaf design, and being joined by a high moulded mahogany cross-stretcher, the shaped platform base still retaining the original brass paterae, the moulded legs terminating in the original brass paw castors.
