AN IMPORTANT PAIR OF ANTIQUE ENGLISH EARLY REGENCY PERIOD THREE-LIGHT CANDELABRA
circa 1805

An important PAIR of English early Regency period three-light candelabra in cut-glass with ormolu mounts, attributed to JOHN BLADES, each candelabrum standing on a large radial cut glass base on later ormolu plinth which supports a central tapering column with panels of diamond-cut glass, and from which issue two S-shaped candle arms, one on each side, which terminate in vase shaped cut-glass nozzles, suspended from which are double-pointed spangles and icicles with tapering faceted balls and spear tips, below which is a cut-glass flower-shaped savel hung with four rows of double-pointed spangles and icicles, the third candle arm rising from the centre with similar drapery of spangles and icicles.

Height 19 ½in (49.5cm). Width 13in (33cm). Maximum depth 5 ½ in (14cm). Base 5 ½ in (14cm) by 5 ½ in (14cm).
